What’s the link between exercise and mental health?
Well, it turns out depression is actually now the leading cause of global disability. That’s a fascinating statistic. And in a really interesting study, the authors found that people who regularly exercise three or more times per week had a 43% self-reported reduction in mental health burden, meaning symptoms of things like depression and anxiety, all done simply by exercising.
What’s the best type of exercise? Well, it turns out popular sports or group-based exercise are the best. But if you can’t do those, any type of exercise is great.
Run, walk, swim, jog, bike… it doesn’t matter. Just get up and get going.
