Effective Techniques to Relieve Pressure and Open Eustachian Tubes for Tinnitus Relief

For example, opening your mouth wide, yawning, chewing gum, or holding your nose and making small puffs can help open the eustachian tubes and relieve pressure in the middle ear.

Additionally, massaging the area behind the ear, known as the sensorial point, can provide relief. Another technique involves using your thumbs to push and release the canal inside your ears.

This can be done about 12 times and may result in an immediate change in sound. Similarly, placing your second finger on the inside of the ear and your third finger on the outside, then rubbing back and forth against the bone behind the ear, can also provide relief.

Stimulating the entire bottom part of the earlobe by rubbing it back and forth can be very effective. This area contains auricular air points that directly connect to the inner ear and brain.

It is recommended to stimulate this area for about 30 to 45 seconds in both ears. Using the heel of your hand, you can push against the entire ear, creating a pressure gradient change.

Another effective technique involves tapping the base of the skull, where it meets the neck, with your second finger tapping on top of your third finger. This tapping motion stimulates the occipital region and can provide relief by stimulating nerves connected to the brain and inner ear.

This technique can be done for a couple of minutes a few times a day. Now, let’s discuss some nutritional approaches to managing tinnitus.

Excessive glutamate in the inner ear cells and the brain can contribute to tinnitus symptoms. To counteract this, it is recommended to consume foods or supplements that contain GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid), l-theanine, and taurine.

These substances can help offset the effects of glutamate. Additionally, zinc, omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin C, ginger, coenzyme Q10, valerian, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, and magnesium have all been found to be beneficial for managing tinnitus.

On the other hand, it is important to avoid consuming foods that contain monosodium glutamate (MSG), as it can exacerbate tinnitus symptoms.
